Kayla was raised in Missouri and earned her bachelor’s of science degree in dietetics at the University of Central Missouri. Shortly after completing her dietetic internship in Colorado Springs, CO she landed her first job as a patient services manager at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. Later she transferred to the Kansas City area where she worked as a clinical and outpatient dietitian at several area hospitals for the same company over an eleven year period. During this time she participated in several performance improvement projects including a parenteral nutrition initiative which was chosen to be an example in ‘Keeping up with the Quality Trends’, a learning module from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Kayla joined Show-Me Foods and Nutrition in December 2015 and is proud to work with a locally owned dietetics/nutrition consulting company in Missouri and Kansas.
